By Free Wireless

Do you know there is a better way to get a free wireless phone? No standing in line and filling out forms. Koolphone makes ordering online quick, secure and easy. Click here for FREE Cell Phones

How do you choose a cell phone and calling plan that is right for you? Over the life of your phone, the calling plan service will cost much more than the phone itself-especially if the phone is free. You should choose the most cost-effective calling plan from a carrier with good coverage in your area. With all the competition for subscribers, monthly and per-minute costs of wireless calling plans have gone down dramatically.

Subscribers can keep their existing wireless phone number and even their landline based numbers when starting or transferring service to a new carrier. With the right calling plan, a wireless phone should not cost much more than a landline phone. Every day people are switching to wireless and giving up their landline service altogether.

There are a few terms you need to be familiar with. TALK TIME: The total amount of phone use, typically measured in minutes, for both calls placed and calls received. PEAK MINUTES: Talk time minutes used during the prime calling periods when the carrier networks are most active, typically between 6am and 9pm Monday through Friday. OFF PEAK MINUTES: Talk Time minutes used outside of prime calling periods. ROAMING: Refers to any wireless phone used outside of a customer's home calling area or carrier network coverage. MOBILE-TO-MOBILE MINUTES: Minutes used for receiving or making calls from another customer on your carrier's service network.

Today's wireless phones enable you to receive and send instant messages, check or send e-mails, and synchronize with your PC contacts, e-mail, calendars, and more. These features make the truly wireless lifestyle a reality.

Chiropractic Marketing with Social Networks and Video

By Matthew Loop, DC

When they first originated, I don't think anyone could've imagined just how lucrative and powerful social networking websites like YouTube, Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were going to be for business growth and exposure. When I introduced social media and simple video marketing to the chiropractic profession three years ago, I was confident that these Web 2.0 platforms would change the face of marketing as we knew it. With that confidence, I still could not have predicted the explosion that has taken place globally in such a short amount time.

Discovering how to leverage social media and video marketing for my chiropractic practice was one of the best things that I could've ever done. As many are aware, this type of marketing / advertising is free so there is virtually no risk to the chiropractor. In 2005, I first began meeting and interacting with people from my local community on Myspace. I was literally meeting 50 people every single day which was getting me tons of free traffic exposure very fast. Initially, I was testing and tweaking certain things on my profile for greater conversions and how I was presenting myself. Then, I began to notice the phone calls and the new patients coming it. I have to say, I was pretty thrilled when this began to happen.

Marketing on social media can yield instant results but it's absolutely phenomenal for positioning yourself in the long-term! It's similar to planting seeds within the community and getting into every nook-and-cranny possible. If you set yourself up correctly, you can brand yourself as an authority in whatever specialty you choose and gain trust and credibility with your community. Then, you can keep tabs and consistently build top-of-the-mind awareness with the friends and subscriber lists that you've built. The avalanche occurs after you've amassed several thousand people that you keep in touch with regularly that need you or refer new patients to your chiropractic practice for the conditions that you treat.

Perhaps the greatest goldmine that I discovered for chiropractic marketing and other forms of marketing is online video submission. When you make and upload online videos, it's a simple and easy thing you can do that yields huge results in your chiropractic practice and its popularity in your community. There are a couple tricks to learn though, like how to properly compress your video through Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. It's vital that you do this before trying to upload to YouTube or video sharing sites.

I first noticed years ago that videos were getting a wonderful index status on the major search engines. We are visual creatures, and people respond more to watching videos online than they do to articles and blogs. When someone can see your face and hear your message, they automatically feel like they know you and can trust you. This is pure gold for your credibility in your community and in the chiropractic world. These videos are available to be viewed 24/7, so you know the internet is working for you, even when you're sleeping! I carry my camera and tripod everywhere I go so that when I'm inspired to make an informative video, I can just do it. Some of the best I've made used the ocean or beautiful mountains as a background.

Now is the time to learn the power that chiropractic video marketing can have on your practice. Nearly 52% of online content today is video! When people go online to look for solutions to back pain and neck aches, they want to ideally find videos for "one on one" instruction and information online. The more videos and material you have online, the more they trust what you have to say and believe your credibility in the business. There is no better way to literally stifle the competition.

It's truly awesome when you have the ability to give people a tour of your office, so that they can really see where you work and the environment of your practice. I know it sounds funny, but I carry my video camera and tripod with me everywhere, because I'm always inspired by some new idea for an informational video and promo for my chiropractic practice. I've shot videos everywhere! It says something about the success of my practice that I've made promo videos in the office, at home, in the mountains, near oceans, and even in Costa Rica! Wouldn't you like to hear answers about your back pain from someone sitting in a majestic location? Viewers come with me on this journey, and are better able to trust me when I speak to them in the flattering natural light.

Keep in mind that volume is really important when it comes to chiropractic video marketing. You want to make at least 1-2 videos a week to begin to successfully canvas the search engines with your material. This helps you to gain credibility in the market. When you outsource the videos production, you're going to pay a lot of money. It really is so simple and easy to do it yourself. Ask people to subscribe to your YouTube video channel at the end of each one.

Make sure you're relaxed and having a good time while making these videos. You want to present yourself as being the warm, professional, and friendly person that you are. That way, people will feel like they know you, and they'll want to stop in to your office and utilize your services.

You need a good coach to teach you the secrets of SEO and chiropractic marketing using web 2.0. When you learn the skills from someone who found success doing the very same thing, you are then perfectly equipped to create your own success and take your chiropractic practice to new heights. You can't learn any of this from a so-called "guru". When you find the right coach, there's no stopping you! - 16459

Cold Weather Makeup Advice

By Makeup Girl

Have you ever realized that it is much more difficult to apply mascara and other eye makeup products in the wintertime? When it starts to get chilly out, you will probably notice that your mascara and eyeliners will be a little stiffer and more difficult to apply. Your eyeliner might even be less supple than it usually is, and might have less color impact. This happens because the lower temperatures can cause problems when it comes to makeup application - and especially eye makeup application. I have a few key makeup tips that will help make your eye makeup routine a little easier this winter season.

The key to a smooth eyeliner application is to have it be the right temperature. It is so frustrating when eyeliner is too cold and hard and doesn't seem to want to go on. The exciting thing is that each of us has a secret weapon; our bodies. Your body heat has just the right effect on your eye makeup to get it to the perfect temperature without over warming it. If you just stick your eyeliner right next to your hip letting the elastic on your pants hold it to your body, after a few minutes, it will be ready. I always do my hair while my eye liner warms up.

This same tip is great for your mascara. When it's too cold, mascara is often more difficult to deal with than eyeliner. When it's cold, your lashes end up looking clumped together and stiff. Using your body heat works great to avoid letting your mascara ruin your makeup look. I've found that it takes a little bit longer to warm up than the eyeliner, so you'll want to give it a few extra minutes. You'll find that the time is worth it when your mascara then goes on smoothly.

The key to beautiful lashes is a nice curl to them. So my final tip will help you get a great curl in your lash. Just like previous tips mentioned, getting the right curl involves warming your eyelash curler. You wouldn't expect your hair to curl on a cold curling iron would you? Just as your hair curls best on a warm curling iron, your eyelashes will curl best on a warmed eyelash curler. You can use your body heat to warm your eyelash curler too.

Sometimes I find myself in a rush. In these cases, I simply run my blow dryer over it for a few seconds to warm it up. If you use your blow dryer, be cautious not to heat it up too much. Your eye area is sensitive, so test the temperature of the curler with your finger. With these cold weather tips, you can still look great and create beautiful winter makeup looks. - 16459

AutoFill And Custom Lists In Excel 2007

By Matthew Fletcher

Excel's AutoFill feature relies on the program's ability to recognize patterns in the data that you enter. For example, if you type "Week 1" in a cell, you can have the program automatically fill in "Week 2", "Week 3", etc. by using the AutoFill handle. This is located in the bottom right of the cell. As the cursor moves over it, the cursor changes appearance to a plus sign (+). When it does so you simply click, hold, drag in any direction and Excel will pick up the pattern and extrapolate it to create automatic data entries.

Whenever you use the AutoFill handle Excel displays the AutoFill Options drop down menu just below the last cell which has been automatically generated. If the program has not entered the correct data, you can choose one of the entries in the AutoFill Options to tell it what you actually meant it to do. For example, if you choose Copy Cells, you simply get an exact copy of what was in the original cell.

Excel also has the ability to automatically enter arbitrary series of data using a feature called Custom Lists. Certain lists are built into Excel, for example, the months of the year. To use the AutoFill feature, enter the first value in the list, for example, "Jan" or "January". Next drag the AutoFill handle (located in the bottom right of the active cell) in any direction to automatically enter the rest of the custom list.

In addition to Excel's built-in lists, you can also create your own custom lists. For example, let's say we work for a company that has branches in several towns. We would almost certainly need to list these towns quite frequently in our spreadsheets. We could save ourselves a fair amount of time by setting up the towns as a custom list.

Creating a custom list is really easy. First, select the cells in one of your worksheets that contain the necessary information. Second, click on the Office button and choose Excel options. Third, click on "Edit Custom Lists" in the "Popular" category. Excel displays the entries that were in the cells that we highlighted. Finally, to convert the selected data into a custom list, click on the "Import" button.

Having created a custom list, you can use it in any of your worksheets, not just the one that contained the original information. To conjure up the entries in the list, simply enter the first value. Next, drag the AutoFill handle and Excel will generate the remaining entries. When you use this facility, you are able to drag in any direction and you don't have to start with the first entry in the custom list.

You can also create custom lists directly in the "Custom Lists" dialog box. Simply click on the "List Entries" button and enter the elements separated by a carriage return. When you have finished entering your list, click on the Add button.

To delete an unwanted custom list, just click on it and press the "Delete" button. Excel checks that you want to delete the list and when you click "OK", the custom list is removed. - 16459

Pay Off Your Debt

By Michael Benifez

If you've decided that you are tired of constant calls from debt collectors, it's time to do something about your old debts. If you feel that you are buried under your debts and it is impossible to pay your way out of debt, you are not alone. When you find yourself in this situation, you should consult a debt counselor, who is trained to help people like you achieve freedom from their debts. They can help you get your debt under control. They'll also help you plan a budget that you can stick to, and teach you good financial strategies. Their advice can help you keep yourself out of debt once you are finally debt-free, because you'll learn good spending habits in the process of reducing your debt.

Other choices when you find yourself faced with extreme debt are filing for bankruptcy, or trying to find a loan to consolidate your debts. Compared to these choices, debt counseling is an excellent alternative. If you file for bankruptcy, your credit rating will be ruined for several years. In some cases, you may even risk losing your personal property by filing for bankruptcy. This is a serious undertaking, and it should not be taken lightly. Bankruptcy should be your last resort if nothing else works to get you out of debt.

For some people, debt consolidation loans can work for paying off their creditors. However, the debt will still exist under the new loan, and many people do not alter their spending habits, landing right in the same place again increasing the stress caused by debts. Plus, because debt consolidation loans are offered to people considered high-risk, they sometimes require the use of collateral. If you are unable to repay the debt consolidation loan, you will lose this property.

Unlike these two often-used options, professional debt counselors work with you to create a repayment plan you'll be able to follow. They will also help you create a reasonable budget, so that you'll be able to find the money to pay back your creditors. It won't be easy, but with time you will pay off your debts. Then the phone calls will finally stop. Plus, you'll have the tools to keep yourself out of financial difficulties in the future. Many people fall into debt because they do not have a budget that they can stick to. By going through a debt counselor, you will be able to plan a budget that will keep you from overspending. - 16459

The Benefits of Continuously Updating Your Computer Software

By Amy Nutt

Software programs are the lifeblood of our computers, without up to date software programs we wouldn't be able to do all of the things that we need to do on our computers.

Some software updates may not be quite as necessary as others, but regular updates to some software are crucial to provide necessary security against the latest internet threats.

What Types of Updates are a Necessity?

If you spend time on the internet, send and receive e-mails or send and receive instant messages then internet security software is a necessity. Internet security software is what will protect you against viruses, spy-ware, ad-ware, mal-ware and all other sorts of threats present to those who spend time on the internet. New viruses and other forms of internet threats are generated every single day, in order for you to stay safe from these threats you need the best and most up to date security that you can get.

Some internet security software companies, like the producers of Norton Internet Security 2009, are constantly generating protection from the latest forms of internet threats and they make these updates available for their customers as soon as they are ready. Subscribers to Norton Internet Security 2009 can receive 'pulse' updates that are available with up to the minute protection to ensure that the user is protected from every type of threat as soon as it's discovered.

Continuously updating your computer security software is an absolute necessity if you want your computer to be protected and to be running as fast and efficient as it's capable.

What Types of Updates are Optional?

Some software companies tend to go a little bit overboard with updates, releasing a "brand new" version of a program when their users have barely even gotten a chance to get used to the previous version of the same program. These are the updates that you have to make a decision as to whether of not you want or need it enough to download the update.

You sometimes need to be wary of potential bugs that may be introduced with updates, manufacturers all too often rush the release of an update and let it hit the market before all of the bugs and incompatibilities are worked out. It's not always necessary for a software package to be updated every few weeks or months.

For software packages or programs that you have installed on your computer that don't have to do with your PC's security, you have the freedom to be able to choose when and if you will install an update without the fear of an imminent threat making the decision for you. You can take the time to take into account how much you like the current version of the software and how well it runs on your system. You can compare the features listed in the update to the features of the version that you are currently running - if the features on the version you have are more appealing to you, or if the new version has no new features that you want or need, then you don't have to update. You have the freedom to sit back and wait for reviews and reactions to the latest updates of programs that you are running, if the risk of incompatibilities outweighs the new features offered you can wait until the bugs are worked out in a future update, or just keep running the current version that you already have installed.

Ultimately - any update that becomes available on any type of software is optional, but you can keep your computer running at an optimal level by continuously updating discount computer software as the updates become available. Any updates that fix existing problems with software that you run are beneficial to download, as is any update that will increase the speed of the programs you are running, but the biggest benefit of updates comes with security software. Continuously updating your security software guarantees that you will be safe from the latest threats that may invade and cause problems with your PC, it will give you the piece of mind to surf the internet freely because you are protected. - 16459

Where To Find Discount Suits

By Victor Santerino

The big recession has brought more attention to the individual balance sheet than any other event in recent years. People want to save money anywhere they can, and business clothing is no exception.

Discounts on suits and a wide array of other retail goods abound all over the country. This article will tell you where to find these discounts and what to look for in a nice discount suit.

In the past I have encouraged consumers to check out thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales, and online stores. However, the recession has expanded my recommendations on where to look for discount prices.

Searching the local Sunday newpaper has become a great way to find nice local deals at department stores. Your local Sears or Macy's department store can be a great place to find slashed prices.

Consumers that are not afraid to buy clothing without a return policy should check out store closings. These stores have set close dates and must sell all of their products before they shut down. I have gotten great deals off of some of these tragedies in the past.

Estate sales and yard sales have traditionally been great places to find used suits at costs that are almost negligible. In addition to the already low prices, many times people running these sales are willing to take offers which can save you over 50 percent off the listed price.

Thrift stores are another great place to find deals on suits and other types of formal wear. Always keep in mind that a good tailor is capable of making alterations to suits in many ways.

When doing research on suits at your computer you can decide to buy them at considerable discounts. Make sure to check shipping costs and delivery times before you click buy and you cannot go wrong. - 16459

Adobe Dreamweaver Training for Independent Consultants

By Matthew Fletcher

If you are someone who offers web design and programming services to different people and companies, it's important for you to know how to use the whole arsenal of tools that exist for you to make the most of your career. That includes understanding and using Adobe's excellent Dreamweaver program, which is a great tool that allows you to edit and create webpage and also allows you to edit HTML and CSS, the two cornerstones of internet code. Knowing how to use tools like these will be essential to your success. Learning from textbooks won't be very productive to your needs. You'll often find yourself relying on the book to make decisions, and to understand how and why you do certain things.

Using some Adobe Dreamweaver training software can be a much better option when you need to learn to use the program. Interactive training software will allow you to get a hands-on feel for the product, and also see what it has to offer, so that you can make the most of the learning experience. By seeing what you're supposed to do rather than simply reading about it, your brain will make the connection much more quickly. People have always learned better by seeing something demonstrated first hand. This is why children are taught in the way that they are, with examples and experiences, rather than with textbooks and no proof. Learning by example comes naturally to most human beings. If your brain can make a connection between what it needs to do with images of how it was taught, it will work much better than trying to memorize instructions and textbook information.

Adobe Dreamweaver training doesn't have to take very long and having it as a skill in your resume can give you a better opportunity for jobs and clients. Many people feel safer designing webpages in a program like Dreamweaver because it's a popular program, and one that they can relate to. If you plan to become an independent contractor in the web design and programming industry, you owe it to yourself to know how to use this program. Your odds of learning effectively will be much better with interactive training tutorials, though, so keep that in mind. Even though a book might be cheaper or seem to be less time consuming, you'll actually spend a lot more time learning because you have to memorize information without seeing it first hand.

If you're an independent contractor and in need of Adobe Dreamweaver training, you should check out training software that is available before you make any decisions. Even if you think learning from a book will be okay, once you see the hands-on interface of the training software, you might change your mind. - 16459

Tips and Advice for your Perfect Body Jewelry

By Susie Maxwell

You want to wear your body jewelry. You've invested the money, undergone the piercing, and now you're ready to show it off. Follow the practical tips below to enjoy your chosen pieces of body jewelry permanently - or for as long as you care to.

* You should always take into consideration the effect that your body piercing will have. s Consider whether you will be bothered by how others see you. It's your choice to wear body jewelry. But if it's visible and you think your employer may not approve, make sure your decoration can be easily removed when appropriate.

* Have your body piercings done by professionals. Ascertain that your physical and mental wellness are not endangered. Dirty instruments and needles can spread serious diseases, including HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis. It is important to ensure that your immunizations for both Tetanus and Hepatitis are current, and also, remember its ok to ask questions.

* Remember that there is no difference between a new body piercing and a puncture wound , keep your piercing clean. Pierced hole infections are very common in fresh piercings, and mean that you won't be able to wear and enjoy your new body jewelry for long. If you have facial piercings it is recommended that you do not wear makeup during the first several days to a week.

* Certain metals should never be used in fresh body piercings. The greater the amount of nickel body jewelry contains, the greater the allergen risk. Using nickel, which is not biocompatible, in pierced body jewelry may cause difficult healing and sensitivity issues. It's important to avoid these following metals when purchasing your first piece of body jewelry.

- Bronze and Brass; varied alloys were employed in use and more often than not caused skin irritations which were painful, and also potentially serious infections.

- Cadmium and chromium are both toxic and may be absorbed by your body.

- Copper too may produce an adverse skin reaction.

- When it comes to choosing body jewelry, gold plated isn't always the best, because not only are you spending more for the gold, the plating will come off in time, leaving you with just the original metal used.

- Pewter; lots of pewter alloys include lead ingredients that might result in exposure to toxic lead.

- Tin contains small amounts of lead.

- Nickel causes allergic reactions and you should never use pierced body jewelry that contains this metal. In many European countries, it is illegal to sell pierced jewelry that contains more than 0.5% nickel.

- Sterling Silver is only 0.This body jewelry is 925% real silver, so be cautioned that some contents may be other possible skin irritant metals. Whether human skin, bodily fluids, or even air, silver oxidizes when it comes into contact with these things. Silver is also a soft metal that can easily be nicked or scratched, and bacteria could grow in these nicks. It is safe to wear silver pierced jewelry in healed piercings, however.

- Gold; surprisingly, gold is not recommended for initial pierced body jewelry. Even though it is correct that higher, more desirable grades of gold, 24 and 18 karat, the hardness of the metal depends on gold's karat and nickel count. Because higher concentrations of gold are softer, it is subject to denting and bacteria are able to flourish within these malformations. Please note that many 14-karat gold based alloys do contain traces of silver, copper, brass, and zinc and sometimes nickel. For your first piercing, it isn't a good idea to use gold body jewelry.

* It is recommended that your body jewelry is made out of a more expensive metal. The following metals are recommended:

- Surgical-quality Stainless Steel; this relates to surgically implant grades 316L or 316LVM and it is probably the most widely used metal for pierced body jewelry. Nevertheless, many people do have allergic reactions to SSS, and some Europeans countries have actually prohibited its use for new piercings.

- Niobium is quite a bit costlier than SSS as well as more durable. It is ideal for those who are greatly sensitive to metals and for your initial body piercing jewelry. It comes in gray or colorful anodized finishes.

- Titanium is considered a high-grade type of metal containing under05% of nickel content in it. It is strong and cannot be scratched or dented. Titanium is the most expensive metal used for body jewelry. Because it is anodized, it is available in a broad range of hues. If you are hypersensitive to SSS and Niobium and if your pocketbook permits it, then you should choose titanium for your first piece of body jewelry.

Keeping the above pointers in mind when you buy your first body jewelry will help you select the perfect piece. - 16459

Employment Classifieds Where to Look

By Alex Wu

Are you looking for a job that will match your qualifications and the salary and benefits that you are looking for? Are you an employer that is looking to hire a qualified employee to work for your company? Employment classifieds are the answer.

The Internet has become a major part of the job market. There are many places that you can post employment classifieds, or post your resume. This opens up a whole new avenue for employers and employees to come together.

The Internet is a place where both parties can place ads on employment classified websites. The one looking for a job can post a r?sum? online for prospective employers to look at, and you can also include a portfolio link if your work can be showcased online. As an employer you get a chance to go through a resume of a person who is qualified for your job, and look at a possible portfolio. These services are a good way to match up employers and employees.

Many online employment classifieds are places where as an employer you can actually go through ads of people looking to be hired and look over heir r?sum?, and then you may not have to place your ad. This is a time saver, you know that the person, who posted for a job, needs and wants the work, and after looking at the resume you can rule them in or out.

As the person placing the employment classified ad, you have so many places you can place these ads in today's market with the Internet leading the way. You can attract people from different states if you would like. The cost varies to place the ad, but you can find some free venues. Either way your field of hiring is much larger when you use this route.

As an employer when you place your employment classified ad, be sure to list the qualifications, and it is also a good idea to put a salary range and benefits. This is often what employees are looking for when they come to look for work and send in their resume. The salary range can be based on experience and qualifications. This way you can weed out the people that would normally apply if they are not qualified or do not have the years of experience that you want.

The cost of placing an ad on these employment websites vary from free to a fee. You can make the choice that is best for you. The fee for placing an ad may be cheaper than what your local paper costs to place an employment classified ad, and it reaches a wider audience.

Some places will guarantee work for you as an employee at jobs offering 100,000 dollars a year. You must realize that most of the jobs require much experience, and degrees or certifications. You also have no idea how long this might take, or if the job will be a good match for you. Be wary of these websites, read the terms of service before you sign an agreement and give out a credit card number. The free sites will offer you good options. - 16459

Checking Your Dentist`s Credentials

By Amy Nutt

While the majority of dentists are good at what they do, there are always a few bad apples. Unfortunately, by the time you realize that you've chosen a bad one, the damage will have been done. To prevent possible problems, it`s a good idea to do a credential check on your dentist, to be sure that he or she hasn't had any problems in the past.

There are two main ways to go about checking credentials for your dentist. Here we will look at both and you can choose which is best for you.

State Boards All dentists must be registered with the state Board of Dental Examiners. They can provide you with a list of dentists, or you can find this online as most states make the list easily available on their website. You should be able to do a simple search for your dentist`s name and the following information will be made available.

- Address - Phone number - License number - License issue date - End of record mark

The number that concerns you here is the license number. You can use this to get further information about the dentist you are interested in by contacting the state Board of Dental Examiners. In some states, this can be done online, but in many, you`ll need to actually call the board up.

With the license number, you`ll be able to find out if the dentist has a valid license and if any disciplinary measures have ever been taken against him or her. You will need the number for your particular state`s board so you can call them up and ask for information about the dentist in question. Any other problems with their practice will be available to you, as well, so you can make your choice as to whether or not you`ll make an appointment with that particular dentist London Ontario. If you are checking out more than one dentist, be sure to have all the license numbers on hand for reference.

Online Searches If you don`t wish to go through all the hassle of looking up your dentist`s license number and calling to find out more information, you will find that there are websites that specialize in providing information about dentists in your area. All you need to do is type in the dentist`s name and the information will come up. Most sites do charge a fee to see all the information, that which you would be able to find out for free by calling the state board.

Most people will find that it`s simply easier to pay the small fee and have the information immediately and conveniently. You`ll have access to any dentist on the list and will be able to quickly scan through and find out which ones in your area have had problems with the Board before. This is immensely helpful in choosing a dentist.

It`s just common sense to find out whether or not your dentist is a good one or has complaints against him before you arrange any dental work. You wouldn't leave your car with just any mechanic, so why would you let just any dentist touch your teeth? It pays to find out who you`re trusting with your mouth!

Take the time to do a little research, find out if any disciplinary action has been taken against the dentist in question and to ensure that their license is still up to date. You`ll be very glad of it if you should find out something unpleasant, and if you don`t, you`ll still have peace of mind while you sit in the dentist`s chair. - 16459

The FQL Factor and Your Conversion Rates

By Dominic D. Johnstone

Have you ever heard of the FQL Factor? Well first, allow me to explain that that the FQL Factor is a success criteria called Financial Quantum Leap Factor. So let me restate the question.

You may want to consider what your FQL is for 2009. What is your 2009 FQL factor?

You see, we are all tuned into the current events. The global economy is suffering because of Fortune 1000 business failures and the loss of stability in the US economy. We are seeing significant economic collapse of magnitudes not known since the Depression.

Everyone is afraid of the crisis and people around the world are tuned into the news surrounding the unraveling of the economy. People are driven by their and worry about their own financial security.

How does that matter? What is this business about the FQL factor?

Honestly, there is a bottom line here. You can either be a highly proactive and well intentioned financial achiever who plans out their explosive success rate, or you can be one of the billions of people who procrastinate and wait for the next onslaught of negative economic news.

While the nations of the world are concerned about the doom and gloom of the worsening financial crisis, and social charity takes a back seat to self perpetuating worries, there is a better way to approach the coming year! First off, note that the political change in America is a prime opportunity for the US to get it right.

President Obama has a plan to correct the seemingly catastrophic damage Bush had afflicted on the US and the world through his time in office. It is going to take Obama two terms in office to correct the economic conundrum, but he can and will do it. He will begin positioning the US shortly for an economic turnaround.

Barack can only do so much at one time, but he can and will navigate the country until crisis is over and affluence is upon his country once again.

This is a time for you to look at this opportunity as a chance for you to make measurable changes in your life and in your attitude towards your financial abundance. This article regarding your FQL Factor for 2009 is not a call to make a New Years resolution, but rather it is a call to action to commit yourself - like I am committing myself - to explosive - yes - exponential financial growth in 2009 and in years to come.

You see, even in the worst of times there are those who rise above adversity, and commit themselves to their success.

Your FQL factor for 2009 is self determined. It may be to start a business and go from zero sales to $11K in sales. Alternatively, it may be to skyrocket your sales from $9K a month to $90K a month. My inspiration for entrepreneurs like yourself is to not just aim to double or triple your cash flow, but to commit yourself to achieve a tenfold increase in your wealth building in 2009!

That is right. Wherever you are at, look to making 2009 the year when you earn AT LEAST 10 TIMES more wealth than you had in the past year. - 16459

Where Does Health Insurance Come From?

By Amy Nutt

We are all familiar with the concept of health insurance and most people have it in some form or another, but have you ever stopped to wonder how it all began? The idea of paying monthly or annual fees to cover the cost of our health issues seems to be a modern one, but the truth is that there is a long history behind it.

Centuries Old The original idea of health insurance was brought into being by Hugh Chamberlen in 1694. By the time the 1800`s rolled around, people were able to buy accident insurance, which worked to help those who were injured in an accident or who ended up disabled.

The very first health plans only offered compensation if the victim was injured due to an accident on a steamboat or train. While not terribly useful, since there were more injuries related to other circumstances at the time, it did prepare people for the more comprehensive types of plans that would be developed later on by health insurance Canada companies.

In 1847, the Massachusetts Health Insurance of Boston offered the very first group insurance policy with comprehensive benefits. By the 1890`s, insurance companies were starting to issue individual policies that covered everything from injuries and accidents to sickness and disease.

Health Insurance During the War Group insurance plans as we know them today didn`t start until 1929 when a group of teachers decided to create their own plan. They worked a deal with the Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas where they would pay a monthly fee in exchange for medical attention and recovery care whenever needed, for any member of the group.

The idea went over so well that it wasn`t long before Blue Cross health plans were designed. These were health plans that were negotiated specifically with the local hospitals or even specific doctors. Discounts were given to the plan holders and the entire process worked very well.

By the 1940`s, it was evident that more than these very basic types of health insurance was necessary. Some people couldn't afford the monthly fees, but were still in need of the protection afforded by having insurance. This is when employee health insurance became common. Employers would negotiate a deal for their workers and while you worked in a specific workplace, you were covered by their health plan.

During the Second World War, there was a wage freeze. No one was allowed to offer higher wages, which made it virtually impossible to lure the best worker to your company. With so many men away from the country fighting, getting the remaining workers available because a war in and of itself. Health benefits became the new lure and before the war ended in 1945, hundreds of businesses were offering comprehensive health packages in exchange for working for them.

Modern Times, Modern Plans In the 50`s and 60`s, the government began to take an interest in health care and social security began to include disability insurance in 1954. Medicare and Medicaid were both created in the mid-60`s and by the 90`s, most Americans were enrolled in a managed care health insurance program. While minor changes have been made in the years since then, the basic premise has remained intact.

Health insurance Canada has come a long way since the days of steamboats and rail cars, but it`s even more important now with health care costs on the rise. Built on decades of practical application, modern health insurance allows people to enjoy proper health care and emergency care without having to worry about paying huge amounts of money to a hospital or doctor. - 16459

Highlighting Text Using The Keyboard In Microsoft Word

By Dwight Davidson

As well as using the mouse, Microsoft Word 2007 offers a number of handy options for selecting text via the keyboard. Most of these options involve using the Shift key together with other keys. In addition, there are also some techniques which rely entirely on the keyboard.

Using Shift with the cursor keys

One such technique is click followed by Shift-click. To use this technique, click to mark the start of the area that needs to be highlighted. Next, hold down the Shift key and click to mark the point where you want the highlighting to end. All text between the two clicks will then be highlighted.

Using Shift with the cursor keys

Shift can also be used in conjunction with the cursor keys to highlight characters, words, lines or paragraph. To use these techniques, begin by using the cursor keys on your keyboard to position the cursor where you want your highlighting the start. To highlight character by character press the right or left arrow depending on the direction that you want to move in. To select line by line pressed the down arrow or up arrow depending on the required direction. To deselect some of the highlighted text, move the cursor in the opposite direction. To remove the highlight completely, press any cursor key without the Shift key held down.

Using Shift with the cursor keys

The Shift key can also be used in conjunction with the Control key. For example, beginning at the start of the document, if you hold down Control and Shift and press the right arrow, you will select word by word instead of character by character. Similarly if you press Control, Shift and the down arrow, you select paragraph by paragraph.

Using the Home and End keys

Making discontiguous selections

As well as using Shift, you can use Control-Shift. Control-Shift Home will select from the cursor position to the start of the document. Control-Shift end will select from the cursor position to the end of the document.

Shift and click

Let's finish with a technique that everyone should be using: click followed by Shift-click. To use this technique, click to mark the start of the area that needs to be highlighted. Next, hold down the Shift key and click to mark the point where you want the highlighting to end. All text between the two clicks will then be highlighted. - 16459

The Spectra vs. Kevlar Discusion

By Marcos Santana

In the last couple of years a lot of improvements have been made, especially in the police and military equipments and gear , improvements that have lead to better safety. The new bullet proof body armor is more comfortable and protective. In the past bulk and discomfort was part of being protected. Thanks to KEVLAR the new body armors for the police and military have greatly reduced weight and size.

However today a new material called SPECTRA has been released on the market and SPECTRA is more flexible, lighter and stronger than KEVLAR. This new substance is changing the face of bullet proof wear for police and the military, but what are the differences and the big advantages of SPECTRA?

If we examine the structure of the two we see that Kevlar is made from a high strength and high performance fiber who's properties are not yet entirely understood despite the fact that it has been used in bullet proof clothing for many years. A more or less exact description is difficult but you should try to see it is that the molecules form into sheets that then stack themselves around the center of a fiber like spokes. Stacking together several layers of Kevlar in a woven pattern creates the bullet proof material.

In the past when bullets had less velocity and were not constructed from extremely hard materials, Kevlar did a fine job. When a bullet hit a bullet proof vest the different layers of Kevlar reduced the velocity and flatted the bullet while braking layer after layer. This was a very effective way to stop those bullets but today bullets are made of harder materials and the technically very advanced weaponry give the bullets a very high speed.

This means that Kevlar vests are stretched to capacity and sometimes even penetrated completely by these forceful weapons. The only answer with this material is to thicken the layers of weave, which make the material even bulkier, heavier, and less flexible.

Since Spectra is a completely new and different technology , there is no need for layers due to the fact that Spectra is not a woven fabric. It is about 40% more lighter than Kevlar which makes it very useful for comfortable bullet proof vests - 16459

Canon responds to black dot and banding concerns

By Dan Feildman

Canon has published a statement in response to concerns raised about the EOS 5D Mk II. The announcement addresses the widely discussed 'Black Dot' and 'Vertical Banding' issues being reported by owners and potential owners who have been scrutinizing the camera's output. The company says it is investigating both issues and will work on 'measures to reduce or eliminate these phenomena.'

Canon statement:

To Owners of the EOS 5D Mark II Digital SLR Camera

Thank you for using Canon products.

We have learned that some users of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR camera have identified two types of image quality phenomena that appear under certain shooting conditions.

1. "Black dot" phenomenon (the right side of point light sources becomes black) 2. Vertical banding noise

We are currently investigating and analyzing the causes, and examining measures to reduce or eliminate these phenomena by providing correction firmware. An announcement will be made on www.canon-europe.com as soon as measures have been determined.

Details of the phenomena and shooting conditions under which they are likely to occur are as follows.

1. "Black dot" phenomenon (the right side of point light sources becomes black) When shooting night scenes, the right side of point light sources (such as lights from building windows) may become black. The phenomenon may become visible if the images are enlarged to 100% or above on a monitor or if extremely large prints of the images are made.

2. Vertical banding noise If the recording format is set to sRAW1, vertical banding noise may become visible depending on the camera settings, subject, and background. ? Vertical banding noise is not noticeable if the recording format is set to sRAW2. ? Vertical banding noise does not occur if the recording format is set to RAW or JPEG. ? Noise can be reduced if C.Fn II-3: Highlight tone priority is set to 0: Disable.

Canon apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks photographers for their patience. - 16459

Here's a Free Reverse Phone Search That You Can Use

By Sam Lockwood

Imagine being able to simply key in a phone number and then being able to know exactly who that number belongs to. It's possible to do just that with what is known as a "reverse phone lookup". Not only is it a neat way to get information on someone but also an incredibly useful tool.

The reason for a person wanting to perform a reverse phone search can vary from one person to the next. While some are simply curious as to a number displayed on their phones as a missed call, others use this service for matters of a more serious nature which could include doing checks on who is calling their partner.

It was not until recently that it became possible for users to gather this type of information. Unfortunately, a serious shortage of searchable databases prevented these searches from being possible.

Nowadays however, with the internet at everybody's fingertips, finding out information regarding a phone number has never been easier. In fact, there are numerous companies dedicated entirely to this type of service who can provide information regarding almost all phone numbers.

Admittedly, in most cases there is a charge involved for performing a reverse look-up but considering the charge is miniscule, everyone can afford it. Alternatively, there are also other possible ways of getting this information for free.

Enter the desired number in quotation marks into the search box of Google and tap the search button - this will bring up numerous results.

In the owner of the number has used the number online on a webpage or even as part of a profile, a Google search is sure to locate it. When it does, you can then use some of that information in order to dig up further details relating to the owner.

In the event that a Google search delivers no results or even inadequate results, you should opt for one of the paid services. Such services will give you the name and address of the person to whom the number belongs, as well as a record of previous addresses and even employers.

The chances are, if you've not had much success with Google, you'll be looking for a suitable paid service. If this is the case, be sure to use a company that only charges a single sign-up fee after which you're entitled to unlimited searches.

When one considers the small fee these companies charge, the ability to perform reverse phone searches is an exceptional feature to have at your disposal. - 16459

The Proper Way to Wash Your Hair

By Jennifer Summers

You may or may not know this, but there is a 'right' way to wash your hair. If you have not been washing your hair properly, when you do, you should notice a big difference in the shine, bounce, health and cleanliness of your hair. But like many others, it is likely that you were never shown how to wash your hair properly and as a result you do not have the great looking hair that you really want.

Step 1. - Start. Begin by brushing your hair well before you climb into the shower, this will help to loosen dirt, reduce hair breakage and reduce the amount of hair being caught in your plug hole. When you have finished giving your hair a good brush it's time to give your hair a good soaking using warm (not hot) water. For washing your hair properly, it is important that you get all of your hair completely wet, as washing dry hair is difficult.

Step 2. - Applying shampoo. A common mistake that many people make when washing their hair is the amount of shampoo they use. Often people will just add a big dollop to the palm of their hand and then start rubbing it in. This is not the way to do it. If you are using the very highest quality hair care products (which is always recommended) you only need use a small amount as professional hair products are usually more concentrated.

Step 3. - How to wash your hair properly. Massaging/scrubbing too vigorously and not leaving shampoo on long enough, are the two main mistakes people usually make when washing their hair. After you have applied the shampoo to your hair, the proper way to wash it is too gently massage your hair and scalp. Giving your hair a 'good scrub' will not make your hair any cleaner and could damage your scalp. After massaging your scalp, shampoo can be left in your hair for 5 minutes to get a good clean.

Step 4. - Rinse and Repeat. When you have finished shampooing your hair, you have to rinse away all of that lather, dirt and grime. Rinsing your hair is an important part of washing your hair properly. You need to rinse your hair thoroughly (and I mean thoroughly) as shampoo can still be hidden in hair that appears to be rinsed. After you have rinsed your hair thoroughly you can wash your hair again if you want to make sure that you get a proper clean.

Washing your hair properly can truly make a huge difference to the appearance of your hair. The steps are simple enough, just follow the 4 steps above and you can't go wrong. You'll have great clean looking hair every time. And when you use very high quality professional salon hair care products, you will be amazed at just how clean, vibrant and healthy your hair can become. - 16459

CREDIT AND DIVORCE

By Rob Kosberg

Divorce can have unexpected effects on your credit. If you are at the point of considering a divorce, you need to find out how to deal with your finances before you receive the possibly devastating injuries to your credit. Know your total debt situation. You might want to have legal advice as you go through the division of finances.

It is strongly suggested that the financial issues be worked out prior to the actual divorce date. You need to examine the credit reports for each spouse. Any errors should be fixed so that both reports are accurate. Then you can see what credit issues need to be settled.

There are issues if you are responsible together for a mortgage. Home issues need to be carefully managed particularly if there is alimony and child support involved. You may decide to sell the home or to let one partner buy it. That would take care of that joint loan.

You will need to also arrange to have other debts such as cars, credit cards, utilities, etc. in one name only. These are decisions that will need to be made by both of you and are not always easy.

When credit cards are in both names, get them changed to one name only. If this is not done and payments stop (even though one of you has been deemed responsible), creditors can come after the other partner. This can lead to going to "collection" and numerous unpleasant collection calls. Eventually this situation can lead back to court battles. You should know that the poor credit of one partner can affect the credit of the other.

You want to make certain that all cash assets are divided. Then, close all joint checking and savings accounts. One spouse should not be able to get to the accounts of the other.

It would be very positive if all joint debts could be paid even if some things have to be sold. This would ensure that each partner is responsible for his/her own debts. You want to move on with your life knowing that your financial base is secure albeit smaller than before the divorce.

Financial arrangements will be specifically written into your final divorce decree including the responsible party for debts. However, if any joint debts remain and the decreed responsible party defaults on payment, creditors may still seek payments from the ex spouse. Take care of this possibility. - 16459

Leave Everyone With An Impression Of Increase And Achieve Results

By Christina Helwig

Leaving people with an impression of increase means that when you finish an interaction with another person, that person feels like you have contributed positively to their life. This concept is so simple and elementary yet many of us fail to do it.

To truly live this way you need to apply it in every aspect of your life: from the person who cuts you off in traffic to the people you kiss goodnight. Frankly in the hustle and bustle of everyday life this isn't easy. Its much simpler to react and say something unkind than to pause and think about how you can help or improve the other person's life for the better.

But when we stop, pause and think about how our interactions will affect another person, we can truly put this principle into action in our lives. This simple thought process can cause a dramatic change in your life and in your everyday dealings with others.

The most important time to apply this is when you are in a difficult situation or a highly emotional one. This is also the time when it will be the hardest to think about how to improve that other person's life. Sometimes the smallest actions like smiling or simply saying thank you will improve a situation for the better.

We all know people who make us feel warm and happy to see them. They seem to naturally exude a spirit which draws people to them and makes others feel at ease. That easy interaction comes from the same thought process as leaving others with an impression of increase. With these individuals however, this is the way they live and they do not have to consciously think about their actions, it is ingrained in their being.

When we apply this principle to our business lives it makes a world of difference. We have all gone into a store and had a salesperson be rude to us and then vowed to never go back to that store again. Our decision was based solely on the actions of one individual. Not on the quality of merchandise, or how much we liked the store, just on that one person.

Conversely we have been in stores where we are treated like royalty and they capture our repeat business over and over again. The actions of a few people determine the nature of our thoughts about whether we will continue to do business with that entity or not.

By training your employees or yourself to make sure that each person you do business with feels like you have contributed positively to their life you will increase your business exponentially. Your customers and co-workers will become walking billboards on your behalf.

I encourage you to read the chapter on "An Impression of Increase" from Wallace Wattles book "The Science of Getting Rich. - 16459

Discover The 4 P's of Internet Marketing Mix

By Richard Lee

Traditionally the marketing mix is co-ordinated so efficient product, price, promotion and place strategies are developed for products purchased over the counter. The internet is changing the way we sell our products and services. That's a fact. Consumers now use the internet to research and purchase products/services online. Organization now needs online strategies to attract and retain customers. The e-marketing mix considers the elements of presenting the marketing mix online.

Online, this immediate tangibility disappears. But, is that a disadvantage? E-commerce sales are increasing at extremely high rates. Why? What does buying products online offer over one to one sales? Firstly there are clear online facts about the product you are purchasing. The buyer knows immediately about product features, the facts, not sales persons assumptions. Electrical store offers clear information on products and their specification, consumers know what they get if not there is a customer service number where they can find out more. The buying process is also customized for returning visitors, making repeat purchases easier. Organizations can also offer immediately ancillary products along with the main purchase. As mentioned in marketing mix section, pricing is always difficult to do and must take into account many considerations.

Traditionally pricing was about finding about your costs, discovering how much consumers are willing to pay, taking account competition pricing then setting your price. The internet has made pricing very competitive. Many costs i.e. store costs, staff cost have disappeared for complete online stores, placing price pressures on traditional retailers. The internet gives consumers the power to shop around for the best deal at a click of a button. Such easy access to information helps to maintain prices within the online world.

E-pricing can also easily reward loyal customers. Technology allows repeat visitors to be tracked, easily allowing loyalty incentives to be targeted towards them. Payment is also easy online credit cards use allows for easy payments. One of the biggest changes to the marketing mix is online purchasing. Consumers can purchase direct from manufacturers cutting out retailers totally. The challenge for online retailers is to insure that the product is delivered to the consumer within a reasonable time. Location is important within our place strategy.

Online location can refer to where links are placed on other websites. Promoting products and service online is concerned with a number of issues. Having a recognizable domain name is first stage towards e-promotion. Most organizations today have some form of webpage used in most if not all advertisements. Placing banner advertisements on other web pages is a common form of e-promotion. Banner ads must be placed where potential customers browse. Web public relations are another approach to promoting online. News worthy stories based on product or service launches can be placed on the company's webpage, or WPR articles sent to review sites for consumers to read. Hopefully this form of online promotion will pull the consumer in. Direct email is a popular and common form of e-promotions, although slowly becoming the most hated my many consumers. Organizations can send e-leaflets to hundreds and thousands of respondents, hoping a small percentage will reply.

To summaries e-promotion includes: Banner promotion, Web public relations (WPR), E-leaflets and having a domain name. The e-marketing mix must work together and support each other if the company is to have a successful online marketing strategy. - 16459

A Preview of Adobe Photoshop CS4

By David Peters

It appears as Adobe are evolving they're getting better and better. CS3 showed us new features such as non-destructive smart filters, quick selection, 3D compositing, enhanced RAW image processing and HDR support.

The new Creative Suite is designed to meet different challenges such as effective collaborations between designers and developers, embracing new media, reinventing publishing and embracing the explosion of connected media. In fact Chad Seigel, Group Manager for Creative Suite said: "Adobe are trying to break barriers and integrate all products."

Changes to Photoshop CS4 include an improved interface with the entire application enclosed in the frame which means dual monitor users can have more than one application running. The workspace switcher is for swapping between applications such as Camera RAW 5 and Bridge.

Welcome improvements appear in the form of the zoom ratio which is less likely to show jagged or pixelated lines and also boasts a flicker free zoom. Rotating the canvas can also now be done without jagged lines and the brush size can be previewed on the document. This means that when the tool is placed over the image it can be moved in size and allows you to see it before you use it.

Another tool that has been improved is the Dodge/Burn tool; when adjusting the shadows, midtones or highlights the tool no longer will impose on the other two. When adjusting the saturation on the sponge tool it will no longer move out of acceptable gamma.

Adjustment now has its own dedicated window that includes all the tools found in the area such as levels, curves, brightness/contrast and exposure. Another change is the preview window which is now in the tab instead of a new window that overlaps the image. Because of this change your picture can be viewed in its entirety and as an added bonus tools such as curves can be adjusted directly on the image for localized amendments.

The icons are simplified for efficient use meaning you can see what you want to do a lot faster than before.

One part of the existing features that's been improved upon is the clone tool. When your area is selected by stamping on it, a preview of the selected area will show on your brush. Meaning if you're cloning small detail items or subjects such as bricks, this allows you to line them up easier.

The clone tool is another part of the previous features that has been improved. When you have selected your area by stamping on it, a preview of the selected area will show on your brush. Therefore, if you're cloning small detail items or subjects such as bricks you can now line them up easier.

One particular new feature I like is content aware cropping. The tool works by first masking the areas you wish to retain in the picture. The image can then be resized and the parts that are protected won't be cropped into. The program will start to remove areas in between which is an amazing feature to see and use.

An improved blend layer mode has been added and is a useful tool for techniques such as focus stacking. The program will adjust the exposure and colour automatically so there's no need to mess about first.

The images must be loaded in as layers and highlighted. Once you have done that click on Edit>Auto blend layers and the images will be composited together. The process can take some time so be patient.

This process can also be useful if you want to create HDR images if you prefer the ones without the ethereal effect that most systems produce.

Photoshop Product Manager, Bryan Hughes, is quite adamant that this isn't a HDR tool as it doesn't give a full high dynamic range in all areas so the familiar ethereal look of a HDR image is absent. He added that if need be it could be described as a clipped version of HDR.

The Extended version of Photoshop CS4 also features support for 3D. Two dimensional images can be changed to 3D by giving them x, y and z co-ordinates and these images can also be wrapped around imported 3D images. Photoshop CS4 also works in conjunction with Google 3D warehouse where you can import thousands of 3D images. Merging a 2D image onto a 3D image is simple as the only command you need use is the Merge button. The 2D layer acquires all the 3D attributes such as decay detail, color and reflections. The 3D image can be manipulated as well and you can also enjoy features such as creating cut-outs, adding detail or changing colors to the interior of the cut-out.

As an added bonus, a feature has been added for help with people who are colour blind. Colours in Photoshop CS4 can be adjusted for true colour blindness.

One thing I don't like is the removal of the quick tools from the image window bar. When you've opened an image, right clicking on the header bar will bring up five options of duplicate, image size, canvas size, file info for metadata and page set up. I used these a lot, especially file info and to find it's not there adds time to my workflow.

Regardless, at the press release for Photoshop CS4 I was incredibly excited when I saw the new features. The newest features including auto blend and content aware cropping are amazing. I also enjoy using the localized adjustments on Lightroom 2 so it'll be really beneficial on Photoshop CS4.

Check out the upgrades box and see if you'll use all those extra features. Add to that the efficient zooming and 89 percent less drag on the mouse making it move across the screen faster.

Bear in mind that the list is for the Extended version which supports the 3D applications. If you don't need those then don't bother with Extended but as far as I'm concerned this new version is the best one yet. - 16459

Can You Get Car Rental Even if You Don't Have Driver's Insurance?

By Amy Nutt

Something that concerns a lot of individuals looking to rent cars is whether or not they can rent the car without having their own driver's insurance. Why would someone not already have driver's insurance? Well, they may live in a city in which their own transportation is not needed, so they use public transportation. This may mean that they don't have a car. However, they may have their license.

Most individuals who have cars have driver's insurance. But once in a while there is that person who comes to the car rental establishment and they don't have a car. That means they don't have insurance. So what does that mean for them when wanting to rent a car? Are they going to be able to rent the car? The answer might surprise you.

No insurance?

So let's say you walk into your local car rentals place and you tell them you don't have insurance. Do you think they're going to look at you like you're a terrible person? The truth is that they won't. They're not going to look at you like you're terrible because there are plenty of people who walk into their establishment and they don't have insurance.

Here is how they do it:

- The car rental establishment will make a copy of your driver's license. From there they will then tell you what your options are. They may also offer you other things that you may or may not need, so make sure you're not going to end up paying for things that you don't need.

- If you tell them that you don't have driver's insurance, then they will let you know that they have an insurance plan for you. You will have to purchase that insurance plan if you don't have insurance of your own or your insurance doesn't cover rental cars.

That's another issue - that some insurance companies may not cover rental cars. This has to do with what sort of insurance you have taken out with them. If you have a full coverage plan, you can expect that a rental car is going to be covered. If you have a liability plan, you need to look closely at what you have purchased. Either way, you're going to have to provide the car rental business with a copy of your insurance card.

But if you don't have an insurance card, that's alright. They will offer you their own insurance, which will cover you while you rent the car. The prices will vary based on the business you decide to do business with. So if you don't have driver's insurance, make sure you make this part of the deal when shopping around for a company. Make sure you find the best rate or you may find you're paying more for insurance than what you need to.

Problem solved

Avoid Winter Harm to Your Skin - Naturally

By Marilyn Etzel

Winter is a beautiful season full of ice and snow. Along with the beauty, drying air and winds can harm our skin. Learn to protect your skin this winter with a few natural skincare tips.

Even the most moisturized skin can tend towards dryness in the winter. We believe that if we wear layers of clothing to keep the wind out that our skin will automatically be protected. That is far from the truth. If we fail to moisturize our skin in the winter, it will become dry, itchy, and red.

1. Get your eight glasses of water"When we lose moisture through our pores, it has to be put back. Our bodies are composed of mostly water and we risk dehydration if we dont replenish. Drinking lots of water is healthy for our bodies inside and out.

2. Moisturize at night"Even if we put on lotions or creams during the day, we might forget to do so at night. We cover up to stay warm, but that is not enough. Activities throughout the day deplete the moisture in the skin and not moisturizing at night continues the process. Cover your skin with a layer of moisturizing lotion before bed. To keep feet from getting dry and cracked, massage them with a natural salve or balm and cover them with socks.

3. Dont neglect sunscreen"The sun still shines just as bright in the winter. We may not feel it because of the bitter cold temperatures, but the radiation is damaging to skin nonetheless. Before applying any makeup, add sunscreen to the face.

4. Use a humidifier"The air in winter can be very dry. Even in the house, the heat can have a drying effect on the skin and the nasal passages. To add bits of moisture to the air invest in a humidifier. There are two types: warm and cool mist. A cool mist humidifier adds moisture to the air but lowers the temperature a few degrees for comfort.

5. Exfoliate your skin"This can be accomplished with skin creams that contain microbeads, a sugar scrub, or by using a loofah sponge. Using gently circular motions, the exfoliant removes dead skin from our body. A weekly scrub allows healthy skin cells to absorb the moisturizers better and the skin can maintain a healthy level of moisture.

6. Lukewarm showers"Taking a shower at cooler temperatures keeps pores closed so they dont lose moisture. Shorter showers prevent skin dryness. Rinse off quickly after lathering up to keep skin soft. Apply a moisturizing lotion after toweling off.

Winter is a beautiful time of year, but it can be murder on your skin. Add a few of these tips to your routine and see how much better your winter skin feels. - 16459
